Analysis of Scars of the Soul

I have a scar that goes back far
Into my childhood past.
It is the kind that you can find
Since it will always last.

I also feel a pain so real,
Though it is deep inside
My mind and yet, I get upset
If I should "look" inside.

Each scar still hurts since each exerts
A dif'rent kind of pain.
So, I must try to see that I
Don't live my life in vain.
