Analysis of The Club
Tommy L. Maddox 1972 (North Carolina)
Where to go,
what to do?
My passion is on fire.
Who to dance with?
With whom shall I take the chance?
To cure my desire,
to put out my flame.
I sit here, but no one comes to mind.
Is her hair red, or is it blond?
Maybe black, or maybe brunette.
She is here,
This I know.
What is her name?
For only she can put out this flame.
My passion is on fire,
My desire is a flame.
Who will it be?
Who can put out this burning desire for love?
