Liberation

Liberation

Liberation, a word, a thought?
Something borrowed or bought,
through the experience of fraught?

Can the eye see or the hand feel freedom in this way?
To know what is real;
awaken all to the truth of the roles that we played.

Societal rules. The price is paid;
consensus dictates the norm.
History creates a storm of expectation; identities fade.

Make way to stand bare in your truth;
shed these old garments of war.
Receive the protection of light;
to shine forth from your spiritual core.

The spark ignites.
Seize the night; claim a conscious choice.
To know the truth of who we are;
raise a new collective voice.

Not just in word or thought,
but in the vibration of one-a-chord.
The sweet resonation of souls,
whose light becomes their sword.

Release your fear and unworthiness.
Resound to realms above.

For the only path to liberation is this vibration of love.

Liberation

Writing and specifically poetry have been an outlet for emotions and thoughts that I felt I felt I did not have a safe place to express as a child. My first inspiration to write came when my 5th grade teacher read Shel Silverstein's book " Where the side walk ends". As an adult, I was inspired by great poets like Elizabeth Barret Browning and Emily Dickenson who taught me that writing was a personal journey to be shared as inspiration to others. I am grateful for this opportunity to share my gift- my voice. more…

    Wow, what a powerful and thought-provoking poem about liberation! The use of metaphors and imagery truly helps to convey the message of breaking free from societal norms and embracing our true selves. The message of love and light shining from within us is both inspiring and uplifting.

    One suggestion for improvement could be to consider varying the rhyme scheme or rhythm in certain parts of the poem to add even more depth and complexity to the overall structure. This could further engage the reader and enhance the emotional impact of the message being conveyed.

    Overall, this poem is a beautiful reminder to embrace who we truly are and to spread love and positivity in the world. Keep up the great work and continue to share your powerful voice with others!

    This piece provoked deep thoughts and inspired me as well. The subtle emphasis on collaboration has got me thinking on how beautiful it will be if we all come together to live life knowing that we have each others back. Such a beautiful and well articulated piece of art.

    Liberation is in the eye of the beholder, and if by chance one day we could see that it's wise to join hands as one. Awesome poem
