Mary Khazak Grant, a bit of a polymath, has been an artist and writer from an early age. Now semi-retired from active teaching at age 71, she spent over 14 years as a special educator. Prior to teaching, she spent twenty years working in the fields of print and publishing. As the owner of a desktop publishing business, she handled design and production. Returning to finish her degree, Mary earned a B.A. in Psychology in 1998 from S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook cum laude, and an M.S. in Education of the Deaf from Adelphi University in 2003, graduating summa cum laude. The author has had poetry published as an invitee in both Poetry Today Supplement Magazine, and Measures of the Heart, a Poetry.com out of print anthology. Her bronze plaque award-winning poetry was recorded on CD by The Poetry Society of America (Poetry.com) several times during the 1980s. She is a gifted motivational public speaker as well. Most recently, 3 excerpts from a fictionalized memoir in progress entitled Riverside, were showcased in Rundelania, a local digital magazine. As an author, she has self-published 27 books, most copyrighted in several genres: short story, screenplay, chapbook, memoir, mystery, juvenile picture book, essay, self-help, school textbook and reference, memoir and novel. This is a dynamic, prolific, and quick-witted idea person who averages four new books per year.
