I started writing poetry as a young adult to help me cope with many struggles that I was going through during my adolescent years. Today, I find it more difficult to write about that sadness I faced as I have processed much of it. I have been happily married for 20 years and we have 3 children together. I make it a goal to talk with teenagers about recognizing the signs of abuse and toxic relationships.
