Poems »

A British/Scotch poet and novelist, born in Bombay in 1965. He is fascinated by both kabbaddi, a traditional sport of India, and Victorian literature, especially the works of Robert Browning and Alfred Tennyson. He writes poems and stories that belabour the themes and styles of both cultures, often using dramatic monologues and heroic couplets in intense unity. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1987.
