Hero walks on
Shreya Gupta 1982 (New Delhi)
Hero, walks on…
I see outside a divine light,
An aura of a person with the healing might.
He suffers, he endures, he persists,
His choice was snatched
For the path he chose
A call from above,
Ordered him ahead.
Not knowing what lay ahead!
He walks…. unaware
The road is paved, with stones of plight,
“Shall I walk this knowing, what might?”
He stumbles, he bleeds but accepts the sight.
The world ignores, but he carries on
Some are chosen to wear the crown
A crown of honor or crown of doom?
He walks…. Alas! in gloom!
The Saints above are watching every step.
“Shall we protect and object?
He’s my child, we need to reflect,
We’ll send some angels!”
Aha! Some worldly pleasures,
Some food, some water, and some other measures!
I can stay and rest
And leave it to the best…
But then he awakes,
Reminded of the pledges!
He walks……heart full with gifts of love & care.
It gives him a newfound strength
He’ll go to any length.
There’s a sudden wind rising in the air
It’s the winds of change, that swirl ahead
If he walks, he may get engulfed
If he staid he’ll just get a little roughed!
“No, I can’t flip n decide!”
I’ll have to ride the tide!
He runs, He drowns, He glides
He falls, He swirls, He even burns, inside,
He fights them all standing tall
With a crown on his head, he endures all.
They come in swarms, and offer to carry him ahead,
But yet He walks, the rugged!
The Hero, he’ll become
And remembered for times to come!
He walks on his legs of passion and strength of empathy
His heart beating full of unconditional love,
and mind stealthily determined, all above
He won’t be slowed with futile sympathy
And He saved many, simply,
He walks……….and he just walks…….
