The shortness of breath

Sean^45 2000 (Limpopo)

as a lovely day it began
the breeze against the mist
the spring against autumn
the cold against the warmth

a small breath of fresh air you took
a smile that made me nervous
just as expected i flashed my teeth
never looked so foolish i did,

the twitch your eyes had,
the crack in your front teeth,
both showed provenance
still i lingered on

that cold dark feeling faded,
replaced by your beauty,
only roses became a symbol
a symbol of tranquility in your life

the drama became the melody,
one that sang our love and our hopes
still like a fool i lingered on,
lingering in the faith you provided

your touch, your feel,
cost me a cent,
out of desperation i gave in
disregarded my brain i went in

in my stupidity you thrived,
lies were told, to me they were a bliss,
my heart gave in and bowed at your every move
the breath in my lungs left when you did
