Wolf in woolen fur

A bad taste you left in my mouth
A burning in my gut
An endless lump in my throat
A heart that you have cut.

A seasoned liar is what you are,
A wolf in woolen fur.
A little boy in his disguise,
A cauldron the witches stir.

Standing back, now I can see
What you pretend to be.
You're something vile, left me bitter,
Not fast enough can I leave.

A brand new life in store for me
A dream I now can live
A freedom I have never felt
And an ability to forgive

I forgive me for, and not for you.
My heart just can't take the weight.
The weight you left without regret,
And I have no more to say.

I have always loved writing, all types, but especially in partnership with my music. I sing and write melodies for the words which I create. I am passionate about this. Hopefully, someday it will all pay off. Until then, I will enjoy this for what it is. more…
