Wine Stains

There's a waning light around her smile,
it stuck around for a little while
but now it's time to rest its gentle glow.
Her breast rises - falls as she silently calls:
to the memories hanging on the walls,
for her love to gather the ashes of romance
and the bones that broke in the wild dance.

Beauty is now just a simple lone word,
the tears that crash are never heard
and strings snap another heartfelt blow.
Photographs, now steal the laughs
that echoed, swirled and then passed
into kisses passionate, boldly full of power,
rainbows shatter in this, her longest hour.
