This Moment Seems so Surreal
Picture a cool, crisp, California evening along the San Francisco bay.
Its foggy, but I can see the city lights from afar.
They twinkle like the stars high above the heavens.
I can see my breath from the chilly air surrounding me.
I was casually leaning over the pier to view the cities coastline.
Feeling eyes peering my way as the waves roar from this enchanting night.
But I try to ignore the sensation to turn around.
Feeling an unexplainable chemistry between strangers.
As we both admire the sea, I can't help the burning feeling beside me.
I turn left, and there he is, starring into my eyes.
I feel uncomfortable, and yet I have butterflies in my stomach.
I shy away, turning to the right to hide my face.
I can feel his eye's looking straight through me.
They're deep and inviting, like I've known him forever.
This moment seems so surreal.
I turn back to look into his stare, and its intense.
He dosen't close them, or hardly blink.
I blush for his look is enticing, and hypnotic.
I don't know him, but feels like I've been here once before.
Oh, how I feel so intranced, and magically drawn in.
His look is piercing, and penetrating, into my soul.
Seems I should let my gaurd down, so I turn to him.
I stare back it just feels so inviting, and I give him a smile.
He smiles back, and ask me to walk the coast with him.
He takes my hand as we unknowingly walked into our future.
I hear nothing but his voice.
Not even the oceans thunder hitting the rocks.
We strolled together not knowing it was about to become our first date.
I've captured his eye's exactly from that very first night.
We still walk the beach hand in hand, twelve years later.
Love surely shifted my way that night.
Now it holds all my tomorrows.
And forever will never be close enough for me.
Here in San Francisco, my heart was captured.
And he is my life.
