The Rose.. That Brought Me Back To You
It was like I woke up from a dream last night
In the middle of nowhere.. no streets, no light
I stumbled upon a Rose lying in the grass
It was black as the night with thorns made of glass
Could this be a reality or could it still be a dream
So pricked myself and the thorns they turned green
I walked on ahead and my feet began to hurt
It felt like I was walking a million miles on this earth
I never left that rose and kept it safe as I moved on
Cause I knew it meant something and very soon I'd know it all
Through the forests and the flames, the cold and the rain
The time just went on and I kept looking for a ray
A ray of hope that very soon I would see
The reason for this Journey with a hope of being free
Now on my way to nowhere I saw a girl in a black dress
She seemed a little strange and she was surely in mess
I tried to ask her name and if she could tell me the reason I was here
To which she softly whispered … “I couldn't take it anymore so I left that world in fear”
Fear that I ruined everything that I had dreamed about
That's when I cut my wrists and as I asked god to end it..I guess he threw me out
Out of that beautiful world he made.. cause I didn't deserve to be there
Cause the life that he gave me.. I threw it away and I lived it like I just didn't care
She went on to speak and said .. There's got to be a reason you are over here
Maybe you had given up on life the same way, although your memory isn't clear
I just couldn't think anymore so I took out that rose and I showed it to her
Her feet they dropped as she fell to her knees and from her eyes just fell a tear
With a shivering voice she got up and said … You were the one..
You left me and you went away and you gave me that rose when I turned 21
Her tear fell down on it and the black .. It just turned to red
With a little bit of her and me that rose woke up from the dead
When it pricked my finger the thorns they turned to green
And with the drop of her tear the Black petals were washed clean
When I gave her the rose that day and I told her that I'll be gone
She couldn't take it and tried ending her life and I was rightly left alone
I could never forgive myself when I saw her in the hospital and I was left with nothing else to do
That's when I drove that car over the bridge that day and I whispered these last words.. “I Love you”
I told her everything that had happened and as I held her it felt like the closest we had ever been
Then I kissed those lips like I had never done before and we snapped right out of that dream
Next minute I know, I was lying on a bed in a hospital with no one around
I looked to my right and on a bed beside mine there she was.. just looking without a sound
I could see it in her eyes that she knew where we had been as these words came out of my mouth
I said.. Maybe that was the road to redemption and ending our lives wasn't the easy way out
That road was rough and although it might've been a dream it showed us that life had a brighter side too
And path that we went on, through the wind and through the storm makes me never want to give up so soon
That's when she smiled as she pointed to the window at a Rose that shone brighter than the moon
Then she softly whispered ….. I'll value this life.. cause giving up would have never brought me back to you.
