The Loner
(The sequel to “Kiss of Death”)
http://www.poetry.com/poems/464546-Kiss-of-Death
I slightly open my heavy-lidded eyes
And languidly recall what happened.
I'd rather think my memory lies
Than comprehend this stunning world has ended.
Am I in desert? There're no flowers, no trees;
Dead silence reigned in motionless air.
The ocean of water I would like to freeze
To walk across the ice and find somebody over there.
The Loner; I'm on the tiny piece of land.
Why did He save me? I crave for being by your side.
That tragedy left deepest anguish no one can mend.
I don't want to believe you died.
The strength of nature has destroyed your flesh,
But couldn't touch the soul, it's undying.
Our love was shattered. The underwater ruins smash
Remains of it to myriads of fragments as I'm crying.
An aura of abandoned place intensifies my solitude,
Sucking me down in chasm of the despair.
All boundaries were washed away, the ground is so mute.
I wonder if the sky has heard my prayer.
What's going on? I feel my hair's getting wet.
The melancholic rain is mourning my loss.
Did God take you away as payment for the debt?
For I had reveled in forbidden bliss I lost.
The last man on the Earth I have become.
Is it a spiteful joke or miserable fate?
I almost suffocated at the moment you succumbed
As though someone squeezed my throat with knife blade.
I see no sense to live without you any longer.
My spirit's longing to get out of the corporal form
To reunite with yours so our link will be much stronger.
We'll bind the souls together for our love to be reborn.
That thought fills lack of power I need.
The eyes stare at the cliff intending to transgress.
Will I deserve forgiveness for this deed?
I jump into the water not caring to hold my breath.
