The End of Kito

Help me, I'm drown-
Were his last words,
As he sank down
To the ocean floor.

All hope is lost!
Oh, how this hurts!
Were his last thoughts
He thought never more.

Are you the one I've heard crying in the night?

The men who stood
There in stunned silence,
They never would
Repent for their sin.

For those that could
Commit such violence,
She swore they would
Get theirs in the end.

You are the one I've heard crying in the night.

How Sarah laughed
With her only child
Once in the past.
She laughs never more.

Pinned to the ground,
Sarah now smiles
Without a sound.
Awaiting what's in store.

Soon, they'll all be crying, come tonight.

She'd forgive the rape,
But not the murder.
There was no worse way
They could have hurt her.

She'll haunt their dreams
And slaughter their young,
Relishing their screams,
Kito's name on their tongue.

I am a university student from Texas, and a bit of a closet-poet. Perhaps I should keep it in the closet, but I am interested in getting feedback on some of my poetry. Let me know what you think! I used to write a lot of poetry when I was a little kid, but eventually lost interest as I got older. I started writing poetry again as a form of art-therapy during a really hard time in my life. I like to try to experiment with different styles and strange metaphors. Understandably, this can make some of my poetry less accessible at times, but occasionally I feel like it pays off. more…
