The Cradle of the Demagogue
Tell them what they want to hear
Every politician knows
That the Zephyr changes
Where the mob rule goes
Some say he is an honorable man
Lend him then your ear
A ship is dangerous
Without a man to steer-
It towards its destination
Where the future calls
He will led you to the stars
Where they're prone to fall
But his words are beautiful
“Lest you dash your foot against”
He is a man of means
Who shows no moral offense-
To those who blind themselves
Within his tactile phrase
And tempt posterity
That will not be allayed
By those ignorant fools
Who believe in anyone
Who shod themselves in the holiness
Of the evil ones.
