The Burning Exhaust
As I sit back
And think about the past
I can’t help but wonder
What song he heard last
As the smoke filled his car
From the burning exhaust
With hands tightly cuffed
No matter the cost
A happy man
He was before
Now he wants to live
No more
His eyes turn pale
With each inhale
He tosses and turns
With lungs that burns
He tries to escape
But he sealed his fate
He’s already too late
He struggles to breath
As his soul starts to leave
His wrist starts to bleed
Have mercy he pleads
Completing his deeds
As the smoke
Continually feeds
He deleted his past
In one single blast
This one will surely last
With questions no one
Wants to ask
The time has come at last
Loved ones putting on a mask
To deal with this hurting task
His sadness is poetic
His smile so synthetic
It must have been genetic
No longer could he feel
Impossible to heal
He had his last and final meal
Loved ones start to cry
Why did he have to die?
Questions start to fly
As he quickly starts to dry
living a life as one big lie
The time has come to say goodbye
RIP
In loving memory
For my Uncle Philip
