The apple tree

The apple tree
In the long deserted meadow
Grows an enormous apple tree
Its trunk is already hollow
From far the apples you can see
Worms and birds live here in heaven
Squirrels and mice are playing around
The rabbits count this year seven
You can hear so many a sound
Sparrows are loudly twittering
Thrushes are searching for fat worms
You can hear a meadow lark sing
Dying are already the ferns
I really admire this peace
Red apples look so delicious
I beg you, please, don't disturb these
Save this small idyll ambitious.
