Tears

Ellyn McGregor Humleker

Tears I am afraid to shed,
thus they might consume me.
I grieve for the world,
not just myself
Yet I need to release the pain,
But how?
I fear if if I begin to cry,
I shall never stop.
I grieve for all the injustices,
I grieve for the disabled,
I grieve for those closed in their own small worlds,
unable to see a bigger picture of life.
I grieve.
