String

I started out in the heart of God
As a simple peace of string,
Woven in my mother's womb
Wondering what life would bring.
Stitched into this world,
I found myself beaten, battered, and worn.
Until His Son came my way
And I found myself reborn.
I was a ratty old peace of nothing,
Filthy to the core.
Still God saw something special,
God saw something more.
He stitched me into a new garment,
Christ blood was the commend seal.
Making me a child of God,
Though some days it doesn't seem real.
A simple peace of fabric,
That started out as string,
Stitched into a holy garment,
To be worn by the King.
