Solar Sweep

Have you ever watched the sunlight,
sweeping long across the meadow;
Sending flowers to fully bloom,
and spiriting young things to grow ?

Did you ever see the shadows,
made from sunshine's earthly travels ?
They last for fleeting moments,
when suddenly their world unravels.

Bright colors float among the hills,
from fanciful kites the children fly;
And when their tiny smiles erupt,
sparkles shoot from every eye.

We could not live without it,
that great ball of friendly fire;
And if ever captured in a bottle,
each ray glows from sheer desire.
