Slap In The Face

“A liar, a coward, and a cheat you are,
For when you stood at the gates of hell,
You ran when you should have stood.
Never have I been so let down by you,
Even in all that you have done in life,
A liar, a coward, and a cheat you are.”
I have never denied what I once was,
And what I am today is the same to you.
You were not there to see the truth,
Or know what it is that I had done.
I have never denied the lies I lived,
Nor did I try and excuse the cheating.
But when I stood toe to toe with that man,
The one that you accused me of being,
Well then, the coward from now on I will be.
But know this, with the hate in your heart,
That has consumed your heart in every way;
You will find that life is never as easy as,
The forgiveness that has blinded you with hate!
I find now that the cycle was never broken,
So when I made a stand against my father,
I know that I was a coward, a liar, and a cheat.
So when life catches up with you, you will find,
The hate that has consumed your heart and soul,
Will lead you down this very same road.
