Pilot of Inner Space

He wanted to be an astronaut
Since he was itty-bitty;
To live in outer space
Instead of some boring city.
It's what he wanted most
To go farther than far;
Leave mother Earth behind
And journey to an undiscovered star.
But things changed when he got older
He became afraid of heights;
It totally destroyed his dream
And turned out all his lights.
Now he's planted firmly on solid ground
Staying awake late into the night;
Looking at pictures of outer space
And pretending that he's on a flight.
