Our Common Bond

My child was taken from me,
I ask so often "why?"
I know that you must understand,
For your son, too, did die.
So often we forget that you
Suffered this same loss.
How thankful I am that my son,
Was not nailed to a cross.
It happened in the evening,
The doctors don't know why,
He chose to take his own life,
And not even say goodbye.
The anger and the pain,
Are more than I can bare,
His mind could not be right,
Because it seems he didn't care.
I think how I once held him,
His eyes so warm and bright,
And I know that he is in your arms,
I pray this every night.
