Open Road

Get behind the wheel let yourself go,
Explore territory you don't even know,
Search the skies see clouds of white,
Drive on the left not on the right.

Under the blue many traces of green,
Trees they appear and often are seen,
As you travel taking in each spot,
Be ever thankful for freedom you've got.

The open road unfolds before your eyes,
Revealing in detail many a surprise,
Bands of gold how fascinating they be,
Dandelions in abundance so close to sea.

Those white lines to help and assist,
Matched by centre ones when passing you resist,
Then the tarmac with it's positive black,
That's your course both there and back.

What a thrill when driving a car,
Covering great distances under sun or star,
With no restrictions it's yours by choice,
Listen to music or your inner voice.
About this poem;-
Driving without restriction can be heavenly and
as you go what marvellous scenery available to

appreciate. This poem gives a brief glimpse of that

I have been writing poems for forty years and written about all sorts of things. Somehow I get creating streaks and can write up to 4 or 5 poems at once of varying subjects. I find it is a good way to record events of the day and bring history to life. The mental aspect is a balance against keeping fit, work and life in general. more…
