One Sunday Afternoon

George and Lina went for a spin
one Sunday afternoon.
Don't mess my hair, Lina said
hope we'll get there soon.
Down past the river
George did cruise.
Please be careful
there's mud on my shoes.
Lina don't worry
just hold on tight
The path there is clear
George veered to the right.
Up to the clearing
past roses in bloom.
Bumble bees buzzing
we'll be there soon.
You're fresh as a daisy
and young at heart.
Lina my sweetheart
the motor won't start.
