One Day

Salisha Hill

If one day you let me draw your face
In the dark midnight sand
I would kiss you on your lips
and push you away

If one day you let me write your name
In the deep ocean waters
I wouldn't stop til you stayed
I would drown before I let go

If one day you let me cry for you
amidst a brightly lit fire
I would slowly put the flame out
tears to flame, one by one

If one day you let me love you
anywhere in the world
I would do it
right now

Salisha Hill

I have written poetry almost all my life. I hope that through my words I inspire someone else and help them through a tough time. Maybe they could even relate to my situation. I am 16 years old, and even though I am still a teenager, I feel depressed and words help me to get out my anger and sometimes having others read my poems is good enough for me. more…
