On the Outside

On the outside looking in
                                    I see things I wish I had
                               They seem so organized
On the outside it seems sad
                          On the inside looking out
They seem free as windy kites
                                      They seem so happy
                           Without a battle to fight
                               Where I'm at I can't imagine
                                        Any other way
I wouldn't know how to act
I wouldn't know what to say
But on the outside looking in
They seem so safe and warm
To watch when I'm so cold
                                         Out here in the storm
And on the inside looking out
                             The wild wind blown hair
                                   It seems I'm never satisfied
                              It just really isn't fair
