On Its Own--A Universe

It is so big and--to a point, boundless
That it is, on its own--
A universe--all encompassing. ...
But it is much too spent now that only
Her innate gift of caring makes it
Unexpendable yet, as to acknowledge
Every concerned face of loved ones,
And--to welcome its "celestial
Sun and moon--shine, and stars--twinkle."

'Twas not for her having given so much,
So unselflessly--for so many, for so long--
In any given circumstance demanding
Of her time, that "in that time and place,"
There was not a heart, nor an eye--not
Heavy and bleary, when with prayerful
Resolve, her weary heart was remanded
To the one Heart that heals.

'Twas love in everyone's heart--
So strong it simply--manifested there.
With God's Grace, her heart can only
Get better and--bigger still.
