My Shame

Call me what you will
I don't care anymore
Saying all those things
Doesn't change how I feel
I have to live with it
With all the things I do
Even if it means
Being hated by you
I wake each morning
With the hurt in my chest
I've done some terrible things
None of them my best
I've given into temptation
I've done some wrong things
I now know my limitations
And what those things bring
I have brought you sorrow
And I have brought you pain
All I ask for is your forgiveness
To cleanse me from my shame
