Mill- Pond Princess
The first fire fly lit
the last night of summer
She heard the deep bellow of
the oldest bullfrog
A ripple moved toward
the mill ponds shore
as the dragon flys wings
rose and it took flight
The mill pond princess sighed
then leaned aginst her
hollar log throne
She smiled, and drew in the
nights sweet dew
and the last fire fly
of summer joined by thousands more
lit the ponds waters much to her delight
Ah, summer turning
to fall sweet fall.
