May not like it

Since the very first version I have come to this site,
It nevers changes that people come here to fight,
Tempers start to flare swollen ego's are bruised,
I read some of your poems and become confused,
Ratings of one star regardless of merit,
Then you write some drivel, post and share it,
Some even announce they are self proclaimed king,
With poetry so bad it makes my eyes sting,
Kindness works better when you rate others work,
You can still give fewer stars and not be a jerk,
Some will not hear but to those who do,
One thing is certain and has always been true,
There are always some who are obnoxious and vain,
They appear suddenly but only biefly will remain,
Their work is weak and their talk is cheap,
Leave them on the surface while we go deep,
We are here for our poetry and honest point of view,
Be honest with me because I will be with you.
Leave ego behind accept what is said,
So neither be hurt nor let it go to your head.

I have been writing for about 20 years. Found I could rhyme a little and still say something. Was led to use this for the Glory of God and His Son my Saviour. I do write some personal poems but it seems that God gets in those too. It is appropriate though because He is my life. more…
