Masks

We hide behind masks
Covering our imperfections
To avoid questions, we don't want asked.
Our feelings when we are blue
We wear a smile across our face
So others have no clue.
Our acne with foundation
Which in truth
Adds to more frustration.
Pot bellys with inhalation
Painful lipo suction
Saving us from humiliation.
Our teeth with braces
From fangs or overbites
To save us embarrassment in most cases.
Our eyes with contact lens
For glasses are masked too
Adding work for they must soak and cleanse.
Sometimes we don't realize
The things we mask in life
Because everything can have a disguise.
