Love Lost

"Do you love me?"
she asks with eyes
full of sadness
like skies
full of rain.

The man looked down
full of sorrow and
regret he was.
He took off his band
and walked away.

Tears fell like
meteors on the moon
this dark night.
When love ended so soon
like labor pains

All of those pains
Seem to last forever
in the moment,
but the world keeps on its endeavor
to spin.
