Look deeply into my eyes...
into the mirror that is my soul.
Past the decades, and the pain of betrayal
The disallusionments and the disappoinments
Past the uncertainties of our world
And the equivocal times of our wars...
Past the days of beautiful youth,
and knowing that there was nothing that
we did not know.
Look deeply into the shell that is me...
You will see the slightest cracking of a door
A door that is beginning to open
ever so slightly - to allow new breezes,
and new sunrises and sunsets;
New springtimes and coming summer days.
Opening to allow new hope and sharing
and, yes... Trust.
Look deeply, and know that again
I will love
