When I was a little boy
My daddy went away
I remember telling him
Daddy I wish you'd stay
I can't know how he felt
Though I know
 That he was wrong
I...wouldn't Do this
To MY son
My love for him is too strong
I get to hear him laugh
I get to watch him play
Holding him close to me
Knowing he would say
I love you daddy
Knowing I can look at him
And see those big blue eyes
Looking up at me
Then he would sigh
And say I love you daddy
I don't wish for money
I don't wish for fame
I don't need a fancy car
And I'll never be ashamed
I want you close
I need you here
Let these words
Calm all your fears
I love to look at you
And see those big blue eyes
Looking back at me
And soon you will sigh
I get to hear you laugh
I get to watch you play
Holding you close to me
Praying you will say
I LOVE YOU DADDY
