How Old Are You Grand Pa

Grand Pa, said the kids, how old are you?

Stretching his left hand to the past,
Grand Pa said , I am older than the past, kids.

Whooo , said the kids,  you are very old then?

Stretching his right hand towards the future,
And younger than the future.

Whooo , said the kids again , you amuse us.
O Grand PA , said the kids,
please tell us  something for a laugh.

You have to ask a new question then, kids.

Ummm , said the kids , how old are  you today, please tell us ?

At this then Grand Pa smiled and the kids burst into life.
