He Listens

I stop and listen
Nobody's around
The noise of nature
Is the only sound
The branches crack
As the animals creep
Everyone around
Is softly asleep
I begin to speak
To myself you might think
But it's He who listens
Without a blink
He listens in silence
And listens clear
As I begin to tell
All of my fears
He does not judge
And doesn't interrupt
Doesn't think I'm crazy
Or the least bit corrupt
Taking in all that I say
He'll lead me the best way He can
The only thing that He will ask
Is that I'm honest
And remain His fan

Most of my poetry came from my past relationships. I generally write when I'm down and out but would really like to change that. I want to start writing again and work on becoming a better poet. Its a great form of release for me - similar to meditation (which I certainly can't do!) Hope you enjoy. more…
