green

A leaf, some wind and nearby: Me
to realize what life could be:
A greenlit motion out somewhere,
a greenlit motion in the air,
just dancing, swirling, flying by,
just dancing, swirling, flying high.

A leaf, this me and nearby: You
to realize you want it too:
This greenlit something out somewhere,
this freedom feeling in the air,
just dancing, swirling, flying by,
just dancing, flying, high and high.

A leaf was flying by and brought
a sudden, freedom searching thought:
That loving me is less than green,
no matter what we might have been...
that years together can't prevent,
you wishing for a greenlit end.

A leaf, it's you, you're flying by,
a single leaf, just flying high.
I hope your wind will stop, will cease,
I hope your green will fade, decrease...
That flying by and being free
is all you want and all you'll be.
I hope you'll swirl and dance and fall,
and realize then after all
that even though they can't prevent,
those years still matter in the end.
