Friend

If I could say the words I want to say.
When I know you will be so far awy.
To me you mean more than words could say.
You are a friend.
And that friendship could never end.
You have the warmth and kindness.
Which no one else could replace.
You made me see that I could never be alone.
Nor could I ever be afraid to face up to the dark path, which follows my way.

You made me believe in you.
Not as a lover.
But as a very dear friend.
I have never been like this before.
But seeing you,has brought a great deal of understanding my way.

I just hope when it comes to the end.
You'll be there to lead the rest of the way.
