Earth

Dee Edgett

Earth always eternal,
A whirl of motion
Suspended, exquisite sphere.
Earth forever mysterious
Twirls and quakes disregarded.
Absolutely continuous,
Appearing indestructible and invariable.
Unconsciously we are
Obliterating this precious globe,
So essential to our existence.
We treat our world with indifference.
Where will we go when earth implodes?
