Dusty roads
Dust’s, billowing clouds
Obstructing, my once… patent view
As I travel the lone road
Overgrown, old and dry now
But once, hence anew
Separated by fences, thistles and thus
I long to cross over, to your road
Instead of I and you, alone, it could be us
Although every attempt to try, met in vain
For razor of the barb
And the piercing of the thistle
Brings only more persistent pain
The longing for you, when met with failure
Further it grows and grows
Bear, how do I the strain?
As I glimpse in you, what our futures, future holds
The lone road
Once so lonely, maybe you could bring to bear
A ray of hope?
Then to ponder the traversal, back into the wilds…there
In the midst of the settling dusts
The endeavor of desire next… ought to tempt
As I brave the thorn and wire, rusts
Your unwillingness for judgment, met with contempt
As now I spy the boundaries, palpably clear
My heart fills with sorrow,
Stretches out my hand, attempts are they futile?
The wounds they are deeper! The barrier I wallow
I turn, to way back less pain to be sure
But, my faith in you strong… Please! End your resolve
Grasp my hand; pull me through, so we can endure
I hold here for minutes
Bleeding inside
Praying for a miracle, that a spark…
Our Love still left, to give us a try
Then a drop from your eye…
Mixes with dew
Traces of smiling sunshine follow you near
Sobbing, repentant you drag me through!
Countless miles downward…
We still walk this dusty road
Together with blissful bonds that are strong
But now… we carry with us a jovial load!
