Come Home When The Rain Falls

Wide, summer eyes glint 'cross the
Black-bellied clouds
Wondering when the rain would break
So we could run
I look to him, he looks to me, when the rain
Did break, we didn't move
But we did dance
Oh did we dance
Longer than the rain did fall
Longer than the night did call
Even when the dawn began to crawl
We never cared much for dry skin

Years later, we stumble through
The front door
The stars still blinking for the fearless
And the clouds too thin for threats
We danced once more in our
Clean clothes
Faster than our feet would turn
Slower so our hearts could learn
Skin pressed together till I heard it burn...
Don't listen too closely when the wind calls
Just come home to me when the rain falls
