Changes

Changes:

Changes come throughout the years,
Some bring smiles,
Some bring tears,
The greatest joys that life can bring,
The saddest moments that there ever can be,
They all relate to one small thing,
Changes,
When you switch from a boy,
Into a man,
When the preacher says kiss him,
And you take his hand,
When goodbye is a word that you can not stand,
Changes,
When your standing there shaky in the hospital wing,
Clinging to hope,
Wishing,
When the doctor lets you know he's finally be set free,
Changes,
That small little joy,
That took forever to make,
And you know from that moment,
You'll never be the same,
.When she grows into a woman,
And takes her loves name,
Changes,
When you hardly can see,
And each step is to hard,
When you know that it's time,
To rise from this bod,
But the thought of not living,
Is a terrible thought,
Changes,
When you return to wherever,
And are finally free,
You can transform into whatever you wanted to be,
No sickness,
Or hurt,
No trials,
Or disease,
Changes.

Dustin Atwood

My name is Dustin, I am 29 but it feels as if I am a lot older by due of wear and tear.I credit this, to the way I write.I discovered Poetry, when I was 16 in high school. It was a way for me, to put my emotions on paper and get then out of my head. Time went on, and I discovered that using poetry, was in a sense my release from this world. I have struggled with sexuality, loss, depression, anxiety, self doubt, you will find these things in my writing.I like to think my writing is my souls dialogue. It is a voice that maybe the outside me, would never have the courage to say.It is things that have happened that many don't know, a sort of secret side of me. I hope you enjoy! more…
