Bikes And Bridges On The Lanes Of Love

i saw her one day at the brooklyn bridge
cycling by me, side by side
she reminded me about a girl i once missed
wanted to talk to her, but i was shy
she raced passed me and i saw her passing
into manhattan and man, was i sad
heard a voice, i guess my mom was asking
what was wrong, and i said nothing

i saw her a second time at the queensboro bridge
cycling by herself, on a rainy rainy day
it poured so hard like thunder and the lightning missed me by an inch
oh god wont you give me a jolt to my chest for this massive heartache
we crossed paths again at the center of the bridge but this time she looked me right in the eye
sometimes memories tend to be just a distorted reality and we're all just in it for the ride
i looked behind me and she rode so fast as the salty tears almost blinded my vision with the autumn fog
i rode my bike across the east river, shivering and giving in to this blistering mind that holds all my thoughts

i saw her again and again at central park
cycling with her friends near the metropolitan museum of art
this time i told myself, i would go up and talk to her
i rode my bike at full speed and i said “hey”, it was so awkward
she smiled at me and got off her bike and asked “do i know you?”
i told her i think she's looks like someone i used to know and that i would hope to
we both got on our bikes and together with her friends, we had an amazing day
cycling together in the heart of central park, around and around the lovely lanes
