Believe

My grandpa once taught me "love has no limits"
I believed these words; they came from an angel
Even though he could not stay aground
His voice rung aloft sounding of ravenous bells
But they sounded sofly; of a whisper in the wind
Binding my ears to a word of faith
Look closer; before this mirror you will find
The very man that stands before you
So open your eyes, you are no longer blind,
But O ! you are... Until you see what you are looking at...

We all grow as trees; planted in roots
For we are bound until we are set free to explore
As we fall and stumble we scape our knees screaming "Mommy !"
But yet, as our scrapes and tears heal from mommies kisses
We want more...
We want more from this playground that so soon becomes our battleground,
We await as slowly creaks open the worlds doors
And finally we peer outside the shadows creaks
Seeing beyond these blockaded mountain peaks
And we begin wonder... are we freaks ?

A word only contains as much power as a person puts into it
Or so I believed..
Love
It seemed powerful to me
For two birds meant to be
I dreamt I was once free
But clearly... I couldnt see...

We think of this as our last day on earth
For when we play this card game
We play with courage; thus resounding of no shame
We play with a Queen of hearts
Receiving a heart of spades

Of sharpened edges used not to play, but used to hurt
Hurt...
Another word to make us cringe upon the shades
For we dreamt of dreamers dreams
Wasn't it enough already ?
Dreams became reality vanquishing everything I had ever believed in !
Could I treat these seams ?

Not today, not tomorrow, not now...
I hide in shades of blue, as a dove whom barely flew
As the days pass, tomorrow, good bye; so soon yet few
I renounce myselfs art, for now I fall, containing a show,
The caged lion screaming "Save me!" within the zoo

I used to prance in the plains of heavenly earth
Where my paws left prints and my path nestled sweetly
For I knew once what I was worth
A free lion whom ate the devils fruit

So a sinners sin I accept, but not gladly
Feeling as though the fault was mine; I am the wrong doings
But why !? Why must I confess my progress
Who am I to speak, when I can no longer express ?!...

My heart grew dull, as did my vows
Simplicity of life began to drain
Over slowest passing time; dragging on
And the rain no longer weeping of pain

I grew tired.. leaving behind the grazing hills,
For the past lives last, but the future calls now
I learned to except fate as forever
so why can't you !? Repenting the lie of "How ?!"
"How" means never ! Never will you accept forever,
Until you believe in yourself ! ....
We should not be the ones to grow weak
And become a rusted book; of a lost story
So we will rise, from that dusted shelf
And there we will meet glory..

The bottle praising defeat; now drained
We see ourselves in it; empty
There is nothing left,  but our hearts to stain...
So don't you see !? Who we are to be ??!
Together we'll leave with hands wide open
And we shall roam.. Roam the open sea
