A Mountain Lake

The deep blue-green water
Ripples in the breeze
As the sun creates a silhouette
Of the shoreline and its trees

People gather all around
To stroll and gaze and swing
A relaxing day with hat in hand -
The perfect summer fling

Cool waters shadow-shift
As boats and fish go by
While lazy clouds and lofty birds
Are floating in the sky
