Twisted from the inside

I looked at my reflection
just a shadow did I see
for I was filled with clouded judgment
no image could there be..

I had wandered off into a place
where dreams do not belong
staring at the ripples
from where I did go wrong..

I might have learned to change some things
deep inside of me
If only I had known
the darkness that could be..

I struggled with afflictions
to numb me from the pain
submerged in my destruction
I don't even know my name..

Deep down I wanted peace
but where was I to start
for how to build a person
from a broken heart..
