The measure of love

Where rivers rage 'twixt you and me
and canyons deep between us be,
despair not, dear lady,
for in my heart I am with thee.

The stormy oceans I will sail
and highest mountains will travail,
just that I may see your face,
hold your hand soft and frail.

The rift between us pains me so
for thorny fields between us grow;
yet all this anguish I'll endure
that you may my affection know.

My love for you (it knows no bounds),
tis like a song of sweetest sounds
that travels over vales and hills
till all the world it then surrounds.

Though rivers rage in canyons deep
like stormy seas by mountains steep
with gorges great near thorny fields,
this love to fate will never yield.
