Bruised Affirmations

Michael Garcia 1990 (New Jersey)

I am scared
But at times courageous
I am shy
But I can rock out stages
I am truth
That’s
Hidden in a lie
I am grounded
With a head in the sky,
I am charming and sweet
With an attitude to win
I am broken and beat
And will never fit in,
I am a friend
But sometimes a stranger
I am a safe space
Surrounded by danger
I am here
But I was also there
I am highly focused
But too distracted to care
I am deep asleep
With thoughts wide awake
I am all too giving
But
Still not yours to take
I am resenting God while Knee deep in prayer
I am a connected spirit
With a thousand yard stare
I am yours but I struggle to be mine
I am burnt out and exhausted
But
I’ll carry on just fine
I am the light house in the sea guiding the path
I am the warning through the trees that insists you turn back,
I am loud and outgoing
I am quiet and meek,
I am the strong and purpose driven
I am shallow and weak
I am every best part of me
I am every flaw,
I am every single forward March
I am every single fall
I am every glass of water both half full and half empty
I am a beautiful disaster
I am Me.
