By a tree branch in Salazaar

Michelle Villamin 1983 (Camiling Tarlac)

Papa said ?" You'll see your older brother soon."
I can smell this distinctly old moldy nickel smell
I can smell my papa's body slowly rotting in the open casket viewing
There I was 9 years old pinning my black square pin as a symbol of a death of a love one
It was October, there I was crying non-stop thinking to myself my papa is gone?
The only person that I had was gone...

Then when I was 14 years old I search for he's grave it was a nameless tomb by a tree branch
I felt he's presence near by

May my Papa rest in peace
